When shopping for a sewing machine for making wigs, the main things to look for are the workspace available with the machine, the type of stitches the machine includes, and how easy it is to use the machine.
Most sewing machines are suitable for wig making, but some are better quality and provide an easier experience.
When sewing, it’s much easier if you have good space around the machine for you to put your wig on while sewing it. This is why I recommend a sewing machine that’s also a quilting or embroidery machine as they include extension tables which make it easier to place your wig down when sewing it.
By doing this, you’ll prevent problems with feeding the wig through the machine as you sew the wefts onto your cap. Sometimes, people have trouble with stitches being too loose or bunching up unexpectedly because the wig wasn’t fed through properly or the bobbin was loose.
