Janome serger reviews

It’s always a good idea to read reviews when investing in sewing equipment. We’ve written Janome serger reviews so that you can find all the Janome sergers in one place and read about them. This will help you see the difference between each Janome serger and then pick the one that’s best for you and your budget.

Whether you’re a beginner to sewing and have never owned a serger before or you’re finally investing in one, Janome sergers are made from beginners to advanced.

While Janome sergers may not be fancy and have the latest technological features found in expensive sergers, Janome sergers are well-respected, trusted and popular worldwide.

You won’t use a serger as often as a sewing machine, so why invest thousands of dollars on a serger when you can pick one up for under $800?

Janome 8002D serger

The Janome 8002D Serger is one of the best serger machine models on the market and it’s popular with sewing enthusiasts!

It’s a compact serger which means it will save you space on your sewing table. If you live in a small space or don’t have much room for your sewing equipment and accessories, then the Janome 8002D serger is perfect for you.

This is a very fast serger that can operate up to 1300 stitches per minute which is important if you have a sewing business and turnover is important.

You’ll be pleased with its 3 or 4 thread overlock stitch that has a built-in rolled hem feature which helps you with a high-quality hem finish for your garments. The seams are cut and finished quickly and easily and leaves you with a higher quality garment. Quality means more money for your business!

To make threading easy, there are color-coded dials to help you and you can easily convert the serger to a rolled hem with the rolled hem changeover feature.

You can create a clean, professional-looking edge using the retractable upper knife which cuts off your seam allowance while you are sewing. The differential feed ratio is from 0.5 to 2.25 while the cutting width range is from 3.1mm to 7.3mm.

The serger prevents stretching of complicated, lightweight fabrics and helps prevent puckering of the fabric.

The Janome serger’s differential feed controls the front and rear feed dog movements, and this controls the movement of the fabric through the machine. This is important because when you’re working with different types of fabric, you will notice that fabric has different movement requirements. The Janome 8002D serger responds to these differences.

The presser feet easily snap on and the foot pressure is adjustable.

Screwdrivers, a set of needles and tweezers are included and there is a generous 25-year limited warranty.

The tension is great and creates a beautiful stitch.
